The roof of an auditorium built by Zilla Parishad collapsed and one labourer died at Gafargaon under Mymensingh on Friday.
Besides , nine labourers were critically injured. Later, injured persons were recovered and admitted them to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex.
Eye-witnessed said, at the time of construction , the roof could not take burden and it collapsed. Akber Ali, Zaman Mea, Absus Salam said, bamboo, lack of wood, low-standard materials have been used to build the auditorium and as a result, the building has been collapsed and caused death and injury.
The deceased was identified as Zahan Ali (23) , a man of Sollapur village at Durgapur Upazila under Netrokuna Zila.
The injured are – Anwer Hussain (22) of Kestopur village at Durgapur Upazila under Netrokuna , Nazrul Islam (31) and Alamgir of Bennakanda village, Abdul Hamid (20) of Netrokuna Sadar Upazila, Najim Uddin (18) and Azharul (19) of Ronosingh village at Dubaura Upazila under Mymensingh, Kancheon (20) of Nidhierchar village at Gafargaon Upazila, Azahar (18), of Charmoslondho village at Gafargaon Upazila, Bipul (20) of Nidhierchar village. The injured have been admitted into Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex. The labourers are the labourers of Construction Firm of Mr. Ratan Enterprize .
