A meeting of reminiscence on Nurul Hoque Chowdhury was held at Chittagong press club hall on Tuesday with noted politician Moslem Uddin Ahmed in the chair. Late Nurul Hoque Chowdhury was the first minister from Chittagong in the erstwhile Pakistan Central cabinet .
During his reign , he played historical role in expansion of education across the country. He was a honest and responsible personality and we are proud of his previous role in country’s development. This was disclosed in the reminiscence by the Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University Dr. Iftikhar Uddin Chowdhury as chief guest. Nurul Hoque Smriti Parishad arranged the remembrance meeting .
The chief guest in his brief deliverations said the late education enthusiast worked whole life for the welfare of the people and nation specifically for development of education . President of the parishad Moslemuddin said Nurul Hoque Chowdhury was a reputed lawyer, politician and unparallel parliamentarian in Pak assembly .
He was the close associate of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Hoque and played epoch making role for former East Pakistan. Among others President of Chittagong Lawyers Association Adv.Mujibul Hoque, Principal Fazlul Hoque, Adv. Jahiuruddin, Adv. Abdur Rashid, Haider Ali Chowdhury, etc spoke in it duly moderated by politician and columnist Md. Jobair, sources said.
