Rohingya issue major obstructions to fulfill SDGs goal : Nazibur

Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Md Nazibur Rahman said Rohingya issue leads to obstruct attaining the durable development target (Sustainabe development Goal) .
Beside the 11 lakh Rohingya refugees, climate change also hampering the implementation of SDG. He disclosed it while addressing the workshop titled SDG Implementation’ held at Chattogram circuit house on Saturday morning as chief guest.
Md Nazibur Rahman said world community is also thinking the severe Rohingya and climate issue beside Bangladesh. He said an international meet is expected to be held in September this year in America to resolve these two issues. In this international meet, heads of different countries including our Prime Minister are expected to participate in it and hoped an effective solutions of these issues.
He said the SDG will be implanted from local levels and the local administration must extend important role on it. The Principal Secretary also mentioned that the attainment of SDG by Bangladesh was appraised across the world which also enhanced the hopes of attaining MDG. He said in a coordinated efforts , the implementation of SDG is possible.
He further apprised that for attaining SDG, Models will be announced in local levels and in the meantime, a Model for SDG was declared in Natore district which will be expanded in all districts separately.
 He also mentioned about Chattogram that during my tenure as NBR chairman , it was proved that Chattogram is the driving forces of country’s economy and Chattogram seaport and other economic actitivities of the port city contributed important role for advancement of the country. He said Chattogram advanced a lot to attain SDG in the meantime.
Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Foiz Ahed, Chief Executive Officer of PPP Md. Alkama Siddiqui, Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Abdul Mannan also spoke on the occasion.
