Private mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Ltd reported Tk 45.2 billion revenues for 2013 with a 16 percent growth from the last year.
The growth is accredited by new customer acquisition and usage increase against intense competition and other challenges.
This was revealed at a press conference at a city hotel on Thursday.
Speaking at the press conference, Robi Chief Financial Officer Mahtab Uddin Ahmed said his company has improved its market share with 4.3 million customer additions in 2013
In terms of topline performance, Robi delivered a healthy 16 percent growth in revenue last year despite a dip in the last quarter due to the adverse externalities.
In line with the revenue increase, Robi has also posted healthy growth in year-to-date (YTD) operating profit/EBITDA (Earnings Before Tax, Depreciation & Amortisation) and Profit After Tax (PAT) exhibiting its strong focus on operational excellence, Mahtab said.
He also said Robi was able to overcome the market slowdown in 2013, and delivered considerable growth in all financial and market matrices in last year.
Growth in subscriber market share and customer additions remained steady throughout the year with an additional 4.3 million new subscribers being added in 2013, taking the total number of active Robi subscribers to 25.4 million, or 23.3 percent of subscriber market share, at the end of 2013, the chief financial officer of the mobile phone operator said.
He said the revenue increased by 16 percent from Tk 38.9 billion in 2012 to Tk 45.2 billion in 2013. YTD EBITDA growth stood at a healthy 30 percent from Tk 12.3 billion in 2012 to Tk 16.0 billion by 2013.
