Robi buckles up for 4G

Robi with technical support from Huawei Technologies Bangladesh has successfully completed the 4G trial run recently. The 4G test run registered a blistering download speed of 71.26 Mbps. Huawei P9 Plus was used as the test device.
The trial run of the super-fast 4G LTE technology was held at the customer experience centre located at the company’s corporate office at Gulshan.
Robi’s Managing Director and CEO Supun Weerasinghe; Chief Technology Officer, A.K.M. Morshed; Chief Financial Officer, Yap Wai Yip; Chief Corporate and People Officer, Matiul Islam Nowshad; Vice President, Access Network Implementation, Mohammad Rubbyat Akram and Huawei Technologies Bangladesh’s Chief Executive Officer, Zhao Haofu and Account Director, Ni Kai were present on the occasion.
Following the successful trial run of 4G, Robi’s Chief Technology Officer, A.K.M. Morshed said: “4G is widely recognized to be a great enabler of life on the digital frontier. As the digital lifestyle takes hold in our society, the demand for speed is on the rise. With this successful test run, we would like to send out a clear message to our valued customers that, with 4G Robi will be ready to help them ignite their power within. This certainly marks a milestone in the country’s journey towards the realization of the Digital Bangladesh vision.”
Huawei CEO, Zhao Haofu said that “LTE is very much on the horizon and Huawei is committed to make it a success for the mobile operators in Bangladesh. We are very excited to see that the LTE trial run with Robi has clocked up the best speed so far of up to 70+ MBPS. We believe that with LTE, Robi can further strengthen its commitment to enable Bangladesh Government’s vision of digital Bangladesh.
