Robbers looted valuables, including gold ornaments and cash, from an expatriate’s house at Salapur village in sadar upazila early yesterday.
Locals said 10-12 armed robbers swooped on the house of Sadar Upazila AL Organizing Secretary Sumsul Haque Aftab, breaking open its collapsible gate around 12:15 am and held hostage its inmates at gunpoint.
They later looted valuables, including gold ornaments and cash worth Tk 1.5 lakh, from the house and fled with the booty.
