A suspected robber was killed in a reported gunfight with police at Nateswar in Sonaimuri upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mokhlesur Rahman alias Dacoit Subal, 38, son of Esak Mia of Durgapur village in Begumganj upazila.

A suspected robber was killed in a reported gunfight with police at Nateswar in Sonaimuri upazila early Friday.

of police challenged a gang of robbers around 12:45 am they opended fire on police members, forcing them to fire back in self-defense that triggered the gunfight.
After the robbers fled the scene, the law enforcers recovered bullet-wounded Subal from the spot.
When he was taken to Noakhali General Hospital he was pronounced dead by doctors.
The OC said Subl was the leader of a robbers gang. There are 11 cases against him filed with different police stations.
Arms and ammunitions were also recovered from the spot.
