A suspected robber was killed on Sunday during a ‘gunfight’ between a robber gang and law enforcers in Naljani area of the district.
The deceased is identified as Afaz Uddin of Gafargaon in Mymensingh. Police also arrested two other members of the gang – Rubel and Alam from the spot. Officer-in-charge of Jaydebpur Police Station Aminul Islam said they conducted a drive at Naljani as they had secret information that the robbers were preparing to commit robbery there. Sensing the presence of law enforcers the robbers fired gunshots on them
while police also retaliated ,triggering the gunfight. Afaz sustained bullet injury during the gunfight and was declared dead when taken to a hospital, he said.
