Road mishaps take two lives in Jessore

Two people including a student of class-V were killed in two separate road crashes at Bakchar in Jessore town and Benapole port town on Tuesday night.
The dead were identified as Azmal Haque, 40, sales representative of a pharmaceutical company and son of Abdul Majid Morol of Kachua under Jessore sadar upazila and Hadiuzzaman, 9, student of class- V of Kagojpukur Government Primary School and son of Saiful Hossain of Kagojpukur village under Benapole port police station.
The first incident took place as goods laden truck ran over the motorbike in which Azmal was coming towards Jessore town from Murali at Bakchar in Jessore town at around 8pm on Tuesday. ‘The motorbike rider died on the spot,’ said Ilias Hossain, officer in-charge, Kotwali police station.
In another incident, Hadiuzzaman died at Jessore General Hospital at around 10pm on Tuesdayafter being wounded in a road mishap at Benapole at around 7:30pm. His mother Parvina Begum, 30 was also wounded in the road being hit by a covered van and is undergoing treatment at the same hospital, said Apurba Hasan, officer in-charge, Benapole port police station.
