Road mishaps claim 4 lives in Bagerhat, Kishoreganj

At least three people including a child were killed as a passenger bsu rammed a motocycle in Katabaria (Daukiya) area of Kishoreganj Sadar on Sunday noon.
The victim were identified as Rafiqul Islam (28), son of Md. Hadis Miah of Madhupur village in Kendua upazila of Netrokona, Rubel (33) from the same area and his 4 year old son named Shahria.
Police and locals said that the three of them were heading towards Kendua from Kishoreganj town by a motorcycle while a Mymensingh -bound bus crushed the motorbike leaving Rafiqul Islam dead on the spot. Two others died later in Kishoreganj General Hospital. Received on information Police Super Md. Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM visiting the spot.
Kishoreganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Shama Md. Iqbal Hayet told the New Nation that the bus was seized but the driver, helper managed to escape. The dead bodies were sent morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed in this connection with Sadar Model Police Station.
Bagerhat Correspondent adds: One person was killed on the spot and 10 others were injured, 4 seriously when a Dhaka bound passenger coach collided head on with a Khulna bound passenger coach on Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Kendua just in front of Mismilla Fish Feed Mills under Mollahat Upazila in Bagerhat district on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Shahadat Hossain (25), son of one Kamal Hossain of village Sreefaltala under Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat district. He was the helper of Green Line Paribahan of Khulna. It is learnt from Khirul Anam, Officer-in-charge of Mollahat PS that in the morning a passenger coach of Green Line Paribahan left Khulna for Dhaka and when it reached the place of occurrence it collided head on with another passenger coach of Didar Paribahan that was coming Chittagong to Khulna. As a result, Shahadat Hossain, helper of Green Line Paribahan was killed on the spot and 10 passengers of the two coaches were injured, 4 seriously. Being informed of the matter police and a fire service unit rushed to the spot, recovered the injured passengers and admitted them to Khulna Medical College Hospital and Fakirhat Upazila Heath complex for their treatment.
