At least three people, including a woman, were killed in separate road accidents on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Sitakunda upazila on Friday.
Ruby Akhter was killed following a collision among three vehicles — a bus, a truck and a lorry — in Sitakunda bypass area around 3pm.
Two men were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Kumira Gul Ahmed Jute Mills Gate area under Sitakunda upazila of the district .
The deceased were identified as Md Khokon, 35, driver of a pickup van hailed from Khulna and Ariful Islam, 40, son of Ruhul Amin of Gohira village under Raozan upazila.
Md Masud Alam, in-charge of Kumira Highway Police, said the accident occurred when a pickup van from Khulna collided head-on with a standing truck in the area around 6 am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
