Our Savar Correspondent :A 22-year old female garments worker was slaughtered allegedly after gang rape by some unidentified criminals in front of her mother at Bhatpara Radio Colony in Savar on Thursday.The miscreants also tried to kill the victim’s mother the same way. She sustained severe injuries in her throat and is now undergoing treatment at local Enam Medical College and Hospital.”We recovered the victim’s body at 8:30am upon information from a neighbour and sent the body to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for autopsy,” Sub-inspector of Savar police station Taposh Kumar Bishwas told The New Nation on Friday.Police suspect that the killing might took place over previous enmity since the killers before slaughtering the girl stabbed her over a dozen of times and cut off a body part. Taposh Kumar Bishwas said the motive behind the killing would be clear after the recovery of the victim’s mother, Shulekha.Savar police sources said the victim used to work at a garment factory for a couple of years. The girl and her mother used to live at a rented house at Bhatpara Radio Colony.
