Workers set fire to a bus of a readymade garments (RMG) factory at Zirani on the Nabinagar-Kaliakoir road on Tuesday following a rumour over death of one of their fellows in a road accident. They also blockaded the Nabinagar-Kaliakoir road for half an hour causing immense suffering to commuters. Sub-inspector of Chakrabarty police camp Musfiqur Rahman said Shahin, worker of Hamim Group, was hit by a Pabna-bound clothes-loaded bus of Nabi Textiles Mill in the area at about 7:30am. Injured Shahin was admitted to a local hospital. As a rumour spread that Shahin died in the accident, the garment workers flew into rage and set the bus afire. Later, a fire fighting unit rushed in and doused the blaze. — Gazipur, Mar 24 (UNB)
