The first shipment of red-green railway coaches imported from Indonesia reached the country’s largest railway factory in Saidpur work shop.
Railway Ministry sources said that last week the imported coach reached 15 railway factories. Starting from Feb 7, the mechanical inspection begins. Technical training of 15 coaches has started in this railway factory. Tomorrow, these coaches will be closely monitored. Meanwhile, Western Railway General Manager Khondakar Shahidul Islam and Chief Engineer Engineer Mrinal Kanti visited the merchant coaches.
According to sources, the government took the initiative to impose 50 coaches from Indonesia for the Broad Gauge (Large) line. The state-owned Railway Carriage (Coach) construction company PT Industry Karela AP (Inca) is building these sophisticated coaches. More than 200 coaches for the meter gauge (small) line are also being constructed in that institute.
