Rizvi on 3-day remand for torching bus

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Sunday) placed BNP Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed on a three-day remand for torching a bus in Badda area of the capital. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Alamgir Kabir Raj passed the order after Sub-Inspector Mosharraf Hossain of Badda Police Station produced BNP leader Rizvi to the court with a 10-day remand prayer. Mosharraf Hossain is also the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case.
The ACMM granted the remand plea rejecting the bail petition of Rizvi.
The BNP leader was arrested from house No. 98 on Park Road at Baridhara of the city in the wee hours of Saturday for his alleged link with torching a bus Anabil Paribahan near RFL building in Badda and subversive activities on January 26.
Police showed Rizvi arrested in the case lodged by KM Jashimuddin, Supervisor of the transport agency.
