one person was killed and 10 others injured in a clash between two rival groups to establish supremacy in Ghagha village in Lohagarh upazila of Narail district yesterday morning.
The clash erupted this morning between the supporters of sitting and former chairmen of Kotacol union Parishad centering to establish supremacy in Ghagha village equipped with locally made weapons killing one person on the spot and 10 others injured, police said.
The deceased was identified as Iqbal Samadar,25,son of Rupai Samadar of Kotacol village under Lohagarh upazila and a supporter of former up chairman Hamayet Hossain Himu,police added.
10 injured were admitted to Lohagarh Upazila Health Complex. Police fired tear shell to disperse the crowds for bringing situation under control. The situation is now under control, police said.
Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid further trouble.
