Kishoreganj District Administration arranged in mourning rally, blood donation, discussion, Doa Mahafil marking the mournfully Jail Killing Day on Sunday.
Paying rich tributes to four national leaders and liberation war heroes who were brutally murdered inside the Dhaka Central Jail on November, 03, 1975.
A discussion meeting was held at Local Art Council hall on the day. Dr. Syeda Zakia Noor Lipi M.P daughter of Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam attended as Chief Guest while Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarowar Morshed Chwodhury presided over .
It was addressed among others by Police Super Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) a special guest, Zila Parished Chairman Adv Zillur Rahman, Women Awami League Leader and Former M.P Dilara Begum Asma, ADC (Gen) Abdullah-al-Mashud, District Awami League President Kamrul Ahasan Shajahan, its General Secretary Advocate M.A Afzol, Freedom Fighter Md. Asadullah and Poura Mayor Mahemud Pervez.
Later, a mourning rally was brought out in the town marking the Jail Killing Day.
Bangladesh Awami League, Kishoreganj District Unit arranged a discussion and Milad Mahafil at its office on Sunday afternoon.
District Unit President Adv Kamrul Ahasan Shajahan presided over the meeting.
It was addressed among others by General Secretary Adv M.A Afzol, G.P Bijoy Shankor Roy, Principal Sharif Sadi, Syed Ashfakul Islam Tito, Women Leader Bilkis Begum and Former Poura Mayor Nurul Islam.
IU Correspondent says : The 45th Jail Killing Day was celebrated at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday with due solemnity and befitting manner.
To mark the Day, IU authority was brought out a mourned rally wearing black badge from the in front of the administrative building of the university around 11:15 am led by vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari.
IU Pro Vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Prof DR M Selim Toha and its Acting Registrar S M Abdul Latif participated in the rally along with more than 200 hundred officials of the university.

Khulna City and District units of Awami League (AL) and its front organizations, different socio-cultural and professional bodies are observing the day through elaborate programmes.
Local Awami League began the day’s programme with hoisting of national, party and black flags atop of its offices.
The daylong programmes include placing wreaths at the portraits of four national leaders, wearing black badges, arranging milad mahfil, khatme Quran, special prayers at mosques, temples, Churches and Pagodas and discussions.
Various government, semi-government and autonomous organizations also paid rich tributes to four nation al leaders by placing wreaths at their portrait early this morning.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: The mournful Jail Killing Day was observed in the city yesterday paying rich tribute to the four national leaders assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail on this day in 1975.
City and district units of Bangladesh Awami League and its associate organisations observed the day through various programmes paying due homage to the martyred.
Marking the day, scores of wreaths were placed on the grave of Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman, one of the four national leaders, in city’s Kadirganj family graveyard besides mourning rallies and garlanding of portraits of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders at Awami League party office.
Both the units accompanied by the associate organizations brought out a mournful rally from in front of the party office and placed wreaths at the grave. Apart from this, various government, semi-government and autonomous organisations also have placed wreaths since early morning.
