Rich tributes paid to Fazilatunnesa Mujib

The ruling Awami League, its associate bodies and other organizations on Saturday paid rich tributes to Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Muijb by placing wreaths at her grave in Banani here on her 85th birth anniversary.
The organizations also held Qurankhwani, milad and doa mahfils seeking divine blessings for peace of the departed soul.
Awami League advisory council members Amir Hossain Amu and Tofail Ahmed, presidium members Sahara Khatun and Satish Chandra Roy, joint general secretaries Mahabub-Ul-Alam Hanif and Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, organising secretaries Ahmed Hossain and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saifur Rahman Sohag and General Secretary Zakir Hossain were present, among others.
Later, Leaders and workers of Dhaka City Awami League, Awami Juba League (AJL), Swechchasebak League (ASL), Jatiya Sramik League, Mahila Awami League, Juba Mahila League, Krishak League and other organizations also placed wreaths at her grave marking her birth anniversary.
On this day in 1930, Begum Fazilatunnesa nicknamed ‘Renu’ was born to Sheikh Zahurul Huq and Hosne Ara Begum at remote Tungipara village in Gopalganj subdivision later upgraded to a district. At her early age, she was married to her cousin Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
