Rice distributed among 300 flood-hit families in Pirganj

The upazila administration and Awami League (AL) leaders distributed three tonnes rice among 300 flood-affected families of Chatra and Kabilpur unions under Pirganj upazila on Friday, official sources said.
Each of the 300 flood-affected families of Baro Badnapara, Chakbheka, Chondiduar, Gilabari, Kuedpur, Nij Kabilpur and Suranadapur villages under the two unions got 10 kilogram rice.
As per direction given by Speaker of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangshad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, the district administration allocated the rice for distribution among the affected people from flood and rain-fed water-logging in Pirganj upazila.
The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief allocated eight tonnes of rice for distribution among flood-affected people of 40 villages under four unions in Pirganj upazila as per demand sent by the district administration following direction of the Speaker.
Officials of Pirganj upazila administration, leaders of district and upazila units of Awami League (AL), Chairmen and Members of Chatra and Kabilpur unions distributed the rice at different affected areas on behalf of Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Mazharul Islam, Project Implementation Officer Shariful Islam, Vice-president of district AL Chhayadat Hossain Bakul, its Member Mokarram Hossain Chowdhury Jahangir, Pirganj upazila AL President Motaharul Haque Bablu, its General Secretary Tazimul Islam Shamim attended the rice distribution ceremonies.
Vice-presidents of Pirganj upazila AL Mokbul Hossain Sarder and Mominul Islam Rantu, its Joint Secretary Pabitra Kumar Biswas, Organising Secretary Ruhul Amin B.Sc., AL leaders Principal Khalilur Rahman, Moynul Islam Lablu and Advocate Santosh Roy, Chatra union Chairman Mizanur Rahman Raju and Kabilpur union Chairman Shamsul Alam were present.
