Batting Consultant of Comilla Victorians Steve Rhodes highly praised the performance of Imrul Kayes. Imrul Kayes led Comilla Victorians in 2019 to clinch the title of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket. Imrul Kayes is now the captain of Comilla Victorians in this edition of Bangabandhu BPL Cricket. Imrul Kayes led his team from the frontline to earn victory against their two opponents team in this edition of BPL Cricket. Batting Consultant of Comilla Victorians and former head coach of Bangladesh National Cricket team Steve Rhodes highly praised the performance of Imrul Kayes. Comilla Victorians defeated title contenders Fortune Barishal by 63 runs in their second match. Rhodes said, ” Imrul is leading his team from the frontline. He did a good job in the first match. He is becoming a matured Captain day by day. It is a good sign.”
Imrul Kayes is a good follower of Steve Rhodes. After the 2019 World Cup Cricket, Rhodes was sacked by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Russell Domingo has joined the BCB as Head Coach. Then, Imrul Kayes was not included in the Bangladesh National Cricket team. Imrul Kayes was not in the good book of Russell Domingo.
Rhodes said, ” I want to return here to work during BPL. I was impressed after watching the matches of BPL 2019. I feel good after joining as Batting Consultant of Comlla Victorians. It is a
good competition.”
He said, “Salahuddin (Head Coach) is very glad. There is a long way for us to cross. The boys should get chance to play independently. After celebrating these victories, we have to be prepared for the next matches.”
