Chattogram Bureau :
At the beginning of the campaign, Awami League nominated mayoral candidate M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that Chattogram is now on the highway of development under dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
I look forward to your vote in my party symbol boat to make this progress of development of port city more smooth and dynamic.
He made the remarks before the start of the election campaign on Friday by offering Juma prayers at the Bahaddar Bari Jame Mosque in Bahaddarhat and visiting the graves of parents and ancestors at the family graveyard.
Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, a valiant freedom fighter, said that the Father of the Nation and his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have properly evaluated the immense potential of natural beauty and economy in the unique combination of mountains, plains, seas and rivers.
He said the late ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury had opened a new door of development in port city when he was first elected mayor with the love and verdict of the people.
Despite the extreme non-cooperation of the then BNP regime, he signaled the unimaginable development of Chattogram by creating an income sector in the corporation.
Above all, as a soldier of Bangabandhu’s ideology, a freedom fighter and a close companion of Mohiuddin Chowdhury, I promised to make Chattogram a transparent and smart city by applying 100 per cent of modern facilities if elected as mayor.
Rezaul Karim Chowdhury was accompanied by Awami League general secretary and former mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, organizing secretary Noman Al Mahmud, member Shamsul Alam, joint convener of the metropolitan Juba League Farid Mahmud and other leaders and workers.
