Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreath at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation in Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj.
The minister placed wreath on Wednesday at the tomb of Bangabandhu and observed a minute of silence. He then offered fateha and joined a munajat, seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu, as well as other martyrs of the carnage of August 15, 1975.
A special prayer was also held seeking welfare of the country and well-being of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana and other family members.
Karim later signed the visitor’s book kept on the mazar premises.
The minister was accompanied by Pirojpur District Awami League Joint General Secretary Akhtaruzzaman Fulu, District Awami League Liberation War Affairs Secretary Gautam Chowdhury, Tungipara Municipal Awami League President Sheikh Saiful Islam, District Juba League President Chan Mia Majhi, Juba League Central Committee Executive Committee Member Kamruzzaman Khan Shamim, District Fisheries League President Sikder Chan and other leaders of Pirojpur District and Nazirpur Upazila Awami League, Chhatra League, Juba League, Krishak League, Swechchhasebak League during his visit.
