Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim called for teaching morality to the children of the society so that they can become worthy citizens imbued with patriotism.
The certificates of unprincipled and valueless education can give us jobs but cannot make us worthy individual. A family can teach its children about morality and actual knowledge. There is no alternative to teaching morality to the children for being a worthy citizen of the country,” he said.
The minister said this on Saturday while addressing an online workshop on mass educational activities of temple-based children as the chief guest, organized by the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust under the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pirojpur district through video conferencing.
Secretary to the Ministry of Religious Affairs Md Nurul Islam also spoke at the workshop as special guest with Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain in the chair.
Additional Secretary to the concerned ministry Ranjit Kumar Das, Additional Secretary Moazzem Hossain, Deputy Secretary Sourendra Nath Das, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Jhumur Bala, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Bashir Ahmed, Hindu Religious Welfare Trust (Barishal) Trustee Suranjit Dutta Litu, Pirojpur Press Club President Muniruzzaman Nasim, Freedom fighter Gautam Chowdhury and District Puja Udjapan Parishad President Bimal Kumar Mandal also joined the video conference with others.
