The 5th meeting of the South Asian University (SAU) Finance Committee was held on Wednesday at New Delhi’s Akbar Bhawan, the Administrative Complex of the University.
Presided over by Dr Kavita Sharma, President of SAU, the meeting was attended by members representing the member countries. Bangladesh was represented by the Chairman of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Prof Abdul Mannan, who is a member of the committee, nominated by the Board in 2015.
The Committee passed the revised revenue budget of 2016 of INR 53 crore and INR 64 crore for 2017.
The budget was proposed by the Director Finance Wasim Ahmed. The entire Capital budget is provided by India. The SAU is sponsored by all SAARC countries.
