Ruling Awami League-backed candidates won 11 Upazila chairman posts while the BNP backed candidates won 6 in the second phase of upazila election on Thursday, according to unofficial results.
Besides, aspirants supported by Jonoshonghoti Samity won in three upazila, Jaamat in two and independent candidate won in one place.
The election was held on Thursday place in 114 upazilas of 52 districts across the country from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
