Women's Cricket: AV Sporting rout Gulshan Youth by 123 runs

AV Sporting Club crushed Gulshan Youth Club by 123 runs in their first meeting of the 12-team Dhaka Premier Division Women’s Cricket League at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratishthan (BKSP) Ground-3 on Saturday.
Favoured by coin AV Sporting batted first and scored 213 for 6 in stipulated 40 overs, with skipper Panna Ghosh scoring team highest 39 runs, later who was adjudged player of the match.
To set 214 runs to win, Gulshan Youth opened the innings and scored 90 runs for 9 wickets in 40 overs, with opener cum skipper Sanjida Islam scoring highest 42 runs.
Meanwhile, Khelaghar SKS (96 for 1 in 19.4 overs) earned a stunning 9 wickets victory over BKSP (95 for 10 in 40 overs) at BKSP Ground-4.
Skipper cum opener Ayesha Rahman was adjudged player of the match as the player scored highest not out 53 runs for the side and contributed unbeaten 90 runs in 18.1 overs partnering with Nigar Sultana (22), in the second wicket stand.
In the days’ other match at Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium, Abahani Ltd (85 for 3 in 16.5 overs) defeated Rayer Bazar Athletic (84 for 10 in 36.4 overs) by 7 wickets.
Skipper Jahanara Alam of Abahani who captured 3 wickets for 6 runs in 4.4 overs was adjudged player of the match.
