Chittagong Press Club imposed restrictions over the holding of rally, meeting and human chain in front of club premises before 1 pm and if any programme is arranged after that period, intending organizer should take permission from the Press Club authority.
This decision came into force from yesterday, a club sources said.
The decision of restrictions over such meetings was taken on Sunday in a meeting of the beneficiaries of Jamal Khan area on Sunday .
In the meeting, representatives of all educational institutions, diagnostic centres nearest to press club, were present in the meeting .
Eye witnesses sources said different political and social cultural organizations arranges rally, human chain from early morning using loud speakers closing movement of transports in Jamal Khan Road which caused miseries to the school students and patients lack of transportations.
In the meantime, the trend of such types of programs increased gradually which brings sufferings to the pedestrians as well as the nearby schools, diagnostic centers and clinics, sources said.
In the tripartite meeting , among others, General secretary of Chittagong Press club Mohsin Chowhdury, General Secretary of Chittagong Journalist Union Mohammad Ali, Panel Mayor Hasan Mahmud Hasni, Ward Councilor Shaibal Das summon and Officer in-charge of Kotwali thana Jasimuddin were present , a CPC sources added.
