UNB, Dhaka :
A residential building caught fire in the city’ s Mirpur area on Friday afternoon.
Fire Brigade sources said the fire originated at a clothes godown on the 3rd floor of the four-storey building opposite to Gate-5 of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur-6 at about 4:23 pm.
On information, four firefighting units rushed in and brought the fire under control at about 4:50 pm.
However, no one was hurt in the incident.
Contacted, sub-inspector Abdullah Al Mamun of Mirpur Police Station told
UNB from the spot that the main door of the godown was locked from outside when the fire originated. “The fire came to light after smoke started billowing out of the warehouse through the window.”
The SI added that the fire might be originated from an electrical short circuit.
