Campus Report :The cover unveiled ceremony of a book titled “Abstracts of Research Publication” edited by Dr Aminul Islam, a former Professor of the Department of Soil, Water and Environment of Dhaka University was held on Sunday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university. SWED-DU Trust has published this book. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed MP unveiled the cover of the book as chief guest. Chairman of the SWED-DU Trust Prof Dr Sirajul Haque presided over the function while DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain addressed it as special guests. Editor of the book Prof Dr Aminul Islam delivered welcome speech. Former Chairman of SWED-DU Trust Prof Dr Aminur Rahman Majumder gave vote of thanks. Prof Dr Md. Akhter Hossain Khan conducted the program. Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed MP thanked the editors for publishing such a historic book and hoped that this book would help upgrading the scientific research in the country. He stressed the need for strengthening friendly relationship between teachers and students to maintain congenial academic atmosphere in the educational institutions. Attack on the teachers by the students is never acceptable, he mentioned. He urged the students to high the dignity of the teachers in everywhere. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Arefin Siddique emphasized on conducting more research on soil science to meet the food demands in the country. He hoped that this book would play an effective role to develop research activities in the country.
