Renovation of RU Central Library demanded

Leaders and activists of Rajshahi University unit Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of ruling Awami League, demanded renovation of the university’s Central Library and to secure easy access in it with books for all of students.
They raised their demands to the university authority through a human chain in front of the central library on Thursday.
Their other demands include- keeping the library open for seven days a week, allowing easy access of students with books, to ensure speedy internet service and uninterrupted power supply.
The speakers said that in the library, there has a one discussion room containing around hundred seats where the students gather in early morning to get their respective seat for study. Among a number of 36,000 students, only hundred numbers of students are being able to get a place in the discussion room. For this, other meritorious students are being victim deadly as they have been lagging behind in preparation for different competitive exams, said the speakers.
Conducted by RU unit BCL general secretary Faisal Ahmed Runu, RU unit BCL president Golam Kibria, vice presidents Saddam Hossain, Habibullah Nixxon, joint secretary Sabbir Hossain, organising secretaries Chanchal Kumar Arko, Imran Khan Nahid, Imtiaz Ahmed, publicity secretary Kamrul Hasan, arts faculty vice president Abdul Latif and deputy religious affairs secretary Towhidul Islam Durjoy also addressed on the occasion, among others.
