Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Begum Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib National Gold Cup Football Tournament has been inaugurated in Kapasia Upazila of Gazipur. Kohinoor School & College vs. Vakoyadi High School participated in the game.
The tournament was inaugurated at the Kapasia Government Pilot High School ground on Thursday (May 27) morning with the overall cooperation of the Directorate of Sports, Youth and Sports.
Simeen Hussaen Rimi MP, daughter of Bangataj, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Culture, spoke through video conference as the chief guest in the inaugural match presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mosa: Ismat Ara.
Advocate Md. Amanat Hossain Khan, Chairman of Upazila Parishad and Vice President of District Awami League, Muhammad Shahidullah, President of Upazila Awami League, Bazlur Rashid Mollah, Former Commander of Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad, Former Chairman Mofiz Uddin, Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Assistant Assistant Secondary Education Officer spoke as special guests. Kapasia Government Pilot High School headmaster Faiz Uddin Fakir.
Among others, Zakir Hossain Darji Bakul, general secretary of Upazila Sports Association, Mohammad Ali Badu, president of Kapasia Bazar Businessmen’s Association, Dr Emdadul Haque, health secretary of Awami League, Nurul Amin Sikder, joint general secretary of Gazipur Journalists Union, Awlad Hossain Chowdhury Nayan, Md. Dulal. Various dignitaries including Hossain Sheikh were present.
In the match held, Vakoyadi High School defeated Kohinoor School and College 2-1.
