‘Religious harmony exists in CHT’

Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing said Chattogram Hill Tracts is a unique example of religious harmony.
“One can smoothly practice one’s religion maintaining religious harmony here. All religious leaders are playing important roles in maintaining the age-old religious harmony,” he said.
The minister said this on Friday while inaugurating the Amtali Jame Masjid adjacent to the Red Bridge at Bandarban Sadar upazila, said a press release.
Amtali Jame Masjid has been constructed at a cost of Taka 45 lakh with the funding of the Chattagram Hill Tracts Development Board.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Additional Superintendent of Police Reza Sarwar, Municipal Mayor Mohammad Islam Baby and Sadar Upazila Chairman Mohammad Jahangir were present on the occasion.
