Rehab of working children emphasized

With the assist of Educo and at the initiative of ESDO last Monday a workshop was held at ESDO conference room, Adabor, Dhaka on inclusion of metropolitan earning children in social security networking activities.
In the workshop which was held Under the chairmanship of the Executive Director of ESDO Dr. Md. Sahid-Uz-Zaman there was present the Director-General of Department of woman affairs Ramchandra Das as a chief guest.
Joint Secretary, ministry of labor Gokul Chandra Ghosh and Additional Director of the Department of Social Services Helal Uddin Bhuiyan were present as special guests. Prominent anthropologist AnikAsad presented the main articleunder the direction of educo’s manager (Rights & Child labor) Afzal Kabir Khan.
At the workshop, representatives of city corporations, employers and workers, teachers, and other concerned professions gave their thoughtful advice.
The workshop drew the attention of the government to the proper implementation of the existing government social security programs and to include the families of extremely poor people especially the families of child laborers under the government social security net.
In addition, special emphasis was placed on expanding specialized programs for the rehabilitation of working children, the use of CSR funds by the local population and the private sector, and the responsible participation and effective coordination of all Government-Local Government-NGOs and private sector.
