REHAB Fair inaugurated

State Minister for Power, Minerals and Energy Resources Nasrul Hamid MP inaugurated Chattogram Fair of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) and said that the government had taken up the project of removing the hanging electric wire from Chittagong city to opt fore underground line.
He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Chattogram Fair of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) at Radisson Blu’s estuary in the city on Thursday. He said that all the connection lines of the city are being planned to be taken underground. The government is working on this. None will see the hanging around the city in the future.
Not only Chattogram, but all the big cities of the country including Dhaka are under the said plan. He added that a project has been taken up to provide uninterrupted power supply to Chittagong. It will be implemented in two-and-a-half years. Besides, projects have been taken up for power generation from waste. It will be implemented within a year and a half.
If this project is implemented, Chittagong will be the first city in the country to generate electricity from waste. He also said that all areas of the country are coming under 100% electricity in the year of Mujib.
