Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Rajshahi University (RU) formed a human chain on Tuesday demanding immediate recovery of BCL RU Unit Vice President Faisal Ahmed Runu’s father Abdul Gafur who went on missing on December 31, last year.
Abdul Gafur, also was the running mayor of Naoahata Pourashava of Rjashahi, went missing while he was on the way of Dhaka.
Around 11:30am, over hundred BCL leaders and activists addressed at human chain held at the university main entrance.
Protesting the incident, speakers at a human chain urged the government to take necessary steps to recover him.
Faisal Ahmed Runu alleged that Jaamat-shibir men abducted his father for his strong stance against fundamentalists.
Among others, BCL RU unit president Mizanur Rahman Rana, acting general secretary Khalid Hasan Biplob, vice president Firoz Mahmud, Mehedi Hasan Rasel, spoke at human chain.
