Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Railway and local legislator of Raozan ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP said the naturally enriched and beautifully decorated model upazila of the country – Raozan was worstly damaged with the recent flood so caused following the abnormal hill slope water from Rangamati and Khagrachari hill districts in last one month. He disclosed it while exchanging views with the Chief Engineer of LGED and the local upazila administration at upazila bhaban on Monday as Chief Guest. Chief Engineer of LGED Abul Kalam Azad was the principal discussant in it.
Upazila Nirbahi officer of Raozan Md Shamim Hossain Reza presided over it duly graced by the upazila chairman Ehsanul Haider Chowdhury Babul Upazila AL President Kamaluddin, vice chairman Noor Mohammad, woman vice chairman Fouzia Khanam Mina as special guest.
LGED Chief Engineer said flood experiencing every year in our country and we should take necessary measures to discharge the hill slope water in a easy way to rivers uninterruptedly. He stressed the need of excavation of all khals, bycanals etc so that flash water can move down stream easily.
Among others, Asstt commissioner of Land Jonaid Kabir Sohag,Upazila Engineer Fazal Ahmed, Fishery officer Aminul Islam, UZ Education officer Towhid, Agri officer Belayet Hossain, Panel Mayor Bashir Khan, 2nd Panel Mayor Jamiruddin Parvez spoke on the occasion.
