Ariful Alam, 52, Director, internal audit, Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (REB) was found dead in the dormitory of Jessore Palli Bidyut Samity on Thursday morning.
Manobendra Lal Mustafi, Director, system operation, Jessore Palli Bidyut Samity- 1, told newsmen that the high official of REB was declared dead by the
attending physician. ‘He was found lying unconscious on the first floor of cabin number -1 of the dormitory of the samity in the morning,’ he added.
The official came to Jessore in the afternoon of 5th April and went to bed after having dinner at night, but did not respond to attendants in the morning. He was then found lying on the floor after opening the room using a security key in the morning, Manobendra Lal Mustafi added.
Dr Abdur Rashid, Medical Officer, Jessore General Hospital told that the official was declared dead at around 9:25am on Thursday.
‘He could die of cardiac arrest,’ Dr Rashid added.
Mr Yazdami, Flying Officer, Matiur Rahman Airbase, Bangladesh Air Force received the body after post mortem examination, the doctor added.
Sub-inspector Masud Kazi of Kotwali police station told that the REB official could die of cardiac arrest. But the police were investigating the matter.
The dead was a resident of house number -66, road number -18, Uttara, Dhaka and hailed from 165 Kadirgonj in Rajshahi town.
