Major Genrel Main Uddin, Chairman of the Rural Electrification Board (REB) said the Board will ensure electrification of all the upazilas by the year 2018 to ensure power facilities for each and every family throughout the country.
The chairman was discussing the matter in the board meeting of the REB management, audit and review held in the board room of the Jhenaidah REB on Saturday.
General managers, deputy general managers, superintendent engineers, executive engineers and other senior officials of Jhenaidah, Rajbari, Faridpur, Kushtia and Meherpur REB were present. The presidents of the five PBS boards were also present during the meeting.
Senior general manger of the REB in Jhenaidah Jubaraj Chandra Paul produced the findings and observation of the board in concerned five Pally Bidyut Samities (PBS).
The meeting expressed its satisfaction over some success of the board. It also observed that there were some irregularities in the PBS and REB which should be settled at no delay and those responsible for any corruption or unfairmeans, must be punished for the interest of the consumers, REB and PBS.
