Realisation of 13-point demands of business community demanded

Bangladesh Dokan Malik Samity , Chittagong unit placed 13 point demands before the govt aimed at stopping of harassment to traders during month of holy Ramadan .
 The business leader under the banner of BDMS disclosed their demands before the journalists in a press cofernece held yester day with its zonal President Saleh Ahmed Suleman in the chair. President of the Zonal Unit Saleh Ahmed Suleman read out the written statement before the journalists.
The press conference was told that traders of the port city invest thousands millioners of Taka heir business during the period of Ramadan beside their whole year’s business. But during Ramadan, the legal traders of the port city fell into harassment by the law enforcing agencies in the name of mobile courts etc.
The speakers in the meeting said traders of the city pay trade license fees, vat and other taxes to govt regularly whereas the footpath venders, hawkers and the organizers of the different mela committee in the city did not pay any tax to govt whereas Govt is harassing the traders with lame excuse of vat, import documents, and mob ile court alleging the adulterated food items etc. The business leaders called upon the govt to create congenial atmosphere and stable law and order in the city .
They also demanded lessening the rate of vat, to keep free the footpaths from the grief of the hawkers . The also urged the business men to keep the prices of the commodities within the purchasing capacity of middle class people. The traders also demanded prohibition of exhibitions, fairs, mela during the holy month. The association leaders presented 13point demands to the concerned authorities before the journalists.
