Kudos to our red-green clad women booters!

The girls of Bangladesh-who clinched the much-desired success in the SAFF Women’s Football Championship by beating the Himalayan girls in their land-is a unique display of self-belief, sportsmanship, and football excellence. The golden girls of Bangladesh have sustained the proof of aesthetic football ability and sportsmanship despite the constant struggle with the hostile social context outside the field and the visible many obstacles.
It is the joint responsibility of all of us to keep intact the team spirit, confidence, and sports excellence that has been generated after proving our football skills & excellence in the recently concluded tournament. Shortly, the girl footballers should dream of classicizing their team’s capabilities with consecutive success in the world tournament of football.
Family, society, state, football entrepreneurs, and sports authorities have no choice but to fulfill the concerted responsibility to ensure the football talent of women, their global potential, and the utilization of football-playing skills. Besides, the concerned community should play a leading role in further strengthening the socio-economic security of women players.

Funding community radios

In Bangladesh, 14 community radios are operating in different parts of the country to help rural people uplift their socio-economic condition by increasing their access to information and encouraging community action. Currently these radio stations are running as non-profit media. They have only a limited scope for earning revenues to meet their operational costs. It may be mentioned here that the Indian government has allocated 100 crore rupees for the development of the country’s community radio sector. At present, 161 community radios are on air in India.
Community radios are functioning in almost all the countries of the world. So, it is strongly felt that the government should allocate sufficient fund for community radio for its development and better management.
