Preventing fire
Prevention is better than cure. All multi-storied office/residential buildings and shopping malls should take a lesson from the Bashundhara City Shopping Complex fire incidents and adopt the following safety measures:
1. All multi-storied public buildings must be declared as non-smoking zone. This has to be rigidly enforced.
2. Such buildings must have a full-time, round the clock trained team of firemen equipped with at least eight foam extinguishers.
3. Everyone must be very careful while dealing with electricity or stove-anything that can start a fire.
