The IPL committee for the selection of the ‘Player of the Match’ did injustice to Bangladeshi pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman by choosing Probir Kumar despite the fact that the former gave away lesser runs than the latter in a crucial IPL match on Friday.
Both of them captured two wickets each, but Mustafiz gave away 17 runs only, in contrast Probir gave away 28 runs.
The presenter of the prize presentation ceremony argued in favour of Probir and said that the bowler dismissed two key batsmen of Gujrat and it was vital for Hyderabad’s Friday win. If it is the criteria then we can say that the bowler who will dismiss the most celebrated batsman only of the day should be the Player of the Match regardless of other bowlers and batsmen’s fabulous performance.
