Football in crisis

How long will the footballers’ poor performance continue? Asked a friend of me. I could not give any explanation, because I am not soccer expert. But I know that Bangladesh National team lost to Bahrain Olympic team by a solitary goal in the first semifinal of the Bangabandhu Cup Football. When the team from the war-torn Middle East met Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal in the final on Wednesday, three football clubs of Dhaka are fighting against one another to get the top footballers signed for respective club.
Bangladesh Olympic team drew one and lost two matches. We cannot understand why does not the BFF try for leading soccer playing nations like Iran, Japan, Saudi Arabia and South Korea of the Asian zone.
Football fans have condemned the soccer clubs’ wrestling for such footballers who produced dismal performance in the underway international football tournament. My another friend said: Do you think that Brazil and Bangladesh may disappear as football playing nations due to lack of stamina, partisan players selection, defective tactics and strategy, aerial weakness and wrong selection.
I am sorry to say that poor coverage by the media has undermined the tournament’s acceptability to the sports fans. The Bangladesh Football Federation has not still released the profile of every participating team for which the stadium was like a desert on most of the days.
It has repeatedly been said in this column that Bangladesh may survive if coaches opt for Spain’s Tiki-Taka technique. It is applicable for Brazil also. Otherwise, I am giving guarantee that Brazil will not be able to win the 45th edition of the world’s oldest football tournament ‘Copa America Cup’ to be held in the USA in June 2016 if they change their present mind-set and football bosses.
Will the BFF take our advice?
