Remove pay inequality

We all know that the government has given a green light to the pay scale proposed by the 8th pay board with the consent of the prime minister, to reduce the discrimination amongst government workers and also taking into consideration the recent increases in commodity prices. Dr Forash Uddin Ahmed, the commission chairman has proposed that the number of pay grade scales be reduced to 16 from the existing 20.
In the new pay scale, the discrimination has, however, increased between grades 11 and 16 for government employees.
From grade 20 to grade 17, there was an increase in pay by 100 per cent and grade 9 and grade 10 were also increased by 100 per cent. But increases in pay between grade 11 and 13 and grade 16 were drastically lower. Is that not unfair? Why were the pay scales for employees belonging to these grades not increased by as much? Moreover, the facilities of block post, time scale, and selection grade were excluded from these grades, which is also unfair.
We are requesting the government and the committee to lessen such inequality in the pay scale for the sake of the deprived government employees belonging to these groups.
