Introduce Bashabo -Tantibazar Bus Route
The mass commuters of Southeast part of Dhaka metropolis that includes Bashabo, Goran, Nandipara, Banosri, Kadamtala, Rajarbag etc. areas do not have low-cost public transport service. Thousands of inhabitants of the localities have been suffering untold sufferings due to lack of affordable means of transport. Rickshaws have been barred from plying in many busy roads. Compressed natural gas-run auto rickshaws are not easily available as well as costly. There is no alternative transport service like public bus in the areas. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) and private bus service providers can introduce bus service to reduce suffering of thousands of inhabitants of the region, which they have been confronting for a long time.
BRTA can allow a bus rout from Bashabo to Tantibazar via Khilgoan flyover, North Shahjahanpoor, Rajarbag Police Hospital, Dainik Bangla, Gulistan and Bangsal. Residents of the southeast part of Dhaka metropolis will avail the bus service if introduced on the proposed route. There will be enough passengers to avail the bus service if so introduced.
We urge the authority to introduce a new bus service on the proposed Bashabo-Tantibazar via Khilgoan fly over to alleviate the sufferings of thousands of inhabitants of Bashabo, Shahjahanpoor, Goran, Nandipara, Banasri, Kadamtala, Rajarbag and adjoining areas in southeast Dhaka metropolis.
