Congrats Sk Jamal Club

We congratulate the Sheikh Jamal Club for winning the Premier Football League title 2015 with two matches still in hand. We congratulate the players for their success in this tough competition.
Enpowered by several foreign footballers, the club from Dhanmondi won the title for the third time in a row, but the club management did not make their supporters part of the celebrations. The Sheikh Jamal Club have now gone to Kyrgyzstan to take part in the AFC Champions League, where they are to face a very hard contest.
The AFC Champions League, commonly known as the Asian Champions League, is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Introduced in 2002, the competition replaced the Asian Club Championship which had been running since 1985 and replaced the Asian Champion Club Tournament (1967-1971) after a 14-year hiatus. It is the premier club tournament in Asia, equivalent to the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores and the UEFA, CAF, CONCACAF & OFC Champions League competitions.
But the sad part of the Premier League has been the crowdless stadium for days together. We do not know how long will this crowd drought continue? To bring back the spectators in the stadium, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) should work out a new formula.
In the end, we congratulate Mohammedan Sporting Club, Abahani Limited, Sheikh Russell Club, Muktijoddha Sangsad, BJMC, Rahamatganj MFS, Badda Jagorani, Feni Soccer Club and Chittagong Abahani for their participation and to make the Premier League attractive. But we are also sorry at the Farashganj’s unsporting behaviour towards the close of the league.
We request the BFF to arrange a mini-international soccer tournament in Dhaka with four clubs – one each from Iran and South Korea and two home clubs. If it is held, football will get as new push and lease it life.
