Slum people suffer utmost
Many people from the rural Bangladesh are being forced to move to the cities, especially to the capital city Dhaka to survive. Many of them take their shelter in slums and need to live in constant fear of eviction, bulldozer, land grabbers and arsonists.
Although marginalised in developmental perspective, their contribution to urban economy is far from being marginal. The government needs to take expeditious steps to ensure the well beings of slum dwellers making sure that they have free access to education, health, habitat, fresh water, food and sanitation.
