Poor sports coverage on TV channels :
We are a sports loving nation. We want to enjoy all international competitions on the television channel. But there is no opportunity for us because there is no sports channel in the country. The urban people unlike the rural people switch over to the foreign sports channels telecast in Bangladesh. A few days ago, we enjoyed the World Badminton Mixed Team Cup ¾ the Sudirman Cup ¾ on Star Sports. Candidly speaking both the urban and the rural people have passion for South American football, hockey, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, shooting, archery, swimming, field & track, basketball, rowing, gymnastics and diving.
In this connection, the state run Bangladesh Television has ample opportunity to start a sports channel. BTV has three channels. One of these can be used for sports channel. The goodwill of the government is enough for this purpose.

Road needs repairs
The Tilpapara-South Goran Road from the city corporation office to the Ali Ahmad School and College needs repairs urgently. As the budget of the fiscal 2014-15 heads towards close, the city corporation must be alert about the issue. We hope that the corporation will give attention to remove grievances facing the residents of that area.
