Int’l University of Business Agriculture and Technology
The 76th orientation for freshmen of Fall 2017 of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) was held on Monday at the permanent campus at Uttara to welcome the freshmen students of the BAEcon, BATHM, BSN, BSAg, BCSE, BSCE, BSEEE, BSME, BBA & MBA program. The new students of different disciplines who came from all over the country joined the orientation with enthusiasm and exuberance. Prof Dr M A Jabber, Registrar of IUBAT, was presided over the orientation. Prof Dr M R Khan, welcome address and also speech by Prof Dr Monirul Islam, Prof Dr M A Haque, Prof Dr Shohidullah Miah, Prof Lutfar Rahman, Prof Shoriful Islam, Prof A Z A Saifullah, Dr A S A Masud, Mr Md Abu Horaira and others. Speakers on the occasion highlighted the excellence of IUBAT University, and added that the focal point of modern higher education in contemporary world is mostly demand based. Universities have to educate the tertiary students in accordance with the latest modules, curricula and methodology with excellent teaching and guidance to ensure better grooming.
Institutional Quality Assurance Cell
A day-long workshop on “Awareness building Strategies for Self-Assessment” held at Islamic University (IU), Kushtia to provide comprehensive guideline to the students in advance and ensuring a conductive learning environment on Wednesday. Self- Assessment committee of Finance and Banking department of the university organized the workshop under Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Business administration faculty’s room 413 around 11:00 am. IU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed on the program as the chief guest. Prof Dr K M Abdus Sobahan, IQAC director of the university attend as the honorable guest and Sutap Kumar Gosh chairman of the department addressed in the chair. Bakhtiar Hossain, Assistant Professor of the department conducted the workshop along with more than hundred teachers and students of the department were participated here. Dr Rashid Askari explain 3 approaches including Accreditation, Assessment and Audit at the workshop.
Higher Edn Quality Enhancement Project
The concluding ceremony of a two-day Basic Training Programme on UGC Digital Library was held at UGC auditorium recently. University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh organised the professional training programme. Professor Abdul Mannna, Chairman, UGC distributed certificates among the participants as the Chief Guest. Librarians from 34 public universities of the country took part in the training programme. Dr. Gauranga Chandra Mahanta, ndc, Project Director , Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) presided over the programme. Professor Mannan, in his speech, underscored the need for raising awareness about use of e-resources among the students, teachers and researchers of the university, who lag behind on using digital recourses.
