Double standard
The western countries and their allies in the Middle East have closed their embassies in Sana, capital of Yemen, for the time being in protest against the takeover of power by the rebels, mostly Shiite Muslims. But the west and their Arab friends did not do it in the case of Egypt where an Army general cherished his long desire of serving the vested interests by overthrowing the country’s first ever democratically elected government of Muhammad Morsi.
And it is Israel who was the first to welcome the Army coup de’ tat, contrarily Iran protested the takeover despite the fact that Morsi never showed any sign of improving relations with Tehran during his one year rule as President of Egypt. Iran has also welcomed Yemen change.
We understand that the undemocratic governments in the ME and the imperialists feel discomfort at the popular uprising and democratic governments. In this context, we should request the USA, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, UAE and their allies not to close their embassies in Sana permanently because the all out unity is the most essential right now to fight against the ISIS and Boko Haraam.
